Fleet Technology Review

The fleet technology review will focus on the following vehicle types within your fleet operation:

  • Cars (pool and company)
  • Light commercial vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes GVW)
  • Heavy goods vehicles (over 3.5 tonnes GVW)

During this Review it will be necessary to collect and analyse a range of fleet performance and ownership cost information.  This will be augmented with additional information and data collected by Cenex during an in-depth research phase.

Cenex will then undertake an assessment of the availability and maturity of a range of low carbon fleet technology options and therefore ascertain which are the most applicable for use within your specific fleet operation.

The results of the low carbon vehicle assessment will be based on, but not limited to, the following operational aspects:

  • Technology maturity
  • Vehicle models available
  • Availability of fuel
  • Infrastructure provision
  • Carbon intensity of fuel
  • Applicability for fleet operation
  • Total cost of ownership
  • Links to corporate environmental strategy

The results of this analysis will provide a ‘traffic light’ style assessment of the ownership cost and environmental impacts of operating low carbon vehicles within your fleet operation, using the criteria outlined below.

Those technologies that were assessed as ‘green’ or ‘amber’ could then be selected for a more detailed operational analysis, which may include using the Cenex fleet carbon reduction tool (FCRT).
