Cenex runs LCV, the UK’s largest annual low carbon vehicle technology showcasing and networking event (


To provide technical support and project management to the Cenex Transport Team delivering programmes and projects for our customers related to the development, deployment and analysis of new and emerging low carbon vehicles and associated infrastructure. The job is open to individuals with some relevant industrial/employment experience.


  • Design, manage and run low emission vehicle trials and associated study aspects
  • Development of vehicle and fleet simulation models in Matlab/Simulink to demonstrate the performance of low emission and conventional technologies to fleet customers or vehicle product developers
  • Delivery and technical management of low carbon vehicle and recharging/fuelling infrastructure innovation projects from the Cenex research and development portfolio
  • Design, manage and undertake projects and programme activities regarding low carbon automotive technologies, markets, and recharging/fuelling infrastructure
  • Undertake market research, techno-market analysis, write and present reports to Cenex consultancy clients related to scoping low carbon vehicle and infrastructure investment propositions.
  • Develop and write technical papers and reports (and present where required) on Cenex projects



  • Engineering or technical degree
  • Models and simulation experience
  • Good communicator (presenter, writer)
  • Analytical mind
  • Data analysis skills
  • Completer/finisher task orientated, capable of working unsupervised
  • Report and presentation experience
  • UK Driving licence
  • Eligible to work in the UK


  • Direct experience of gas and hydrogen refuelling infrastructure
  • Direct experience of low carbon vehicles
  • Relevant post graduate qualification
  • Interest in environmental technology
  • Motor industry engagement
  • Information collection, database and statistical analysis experience
  • Matlab, SQL
  • Language skills


  • £30,000 – £40,000 dependent on skills and experience
  • Relocation package available
