The report describes the results of a six month trial by Cenex of four smart electric drive (ed) vehicles into fleets in the North East of England.
A questionnaire based on over 250 separate user drives revealed that 58% of users felt more positive about electric vehicles (EVs) after their trial and almost 90% of fleet managers were more positive about incorporating EVs into their fleets.
Quantatative data collected during the trial revealed that range anxiety remains a barrier to EVs achieving their full potential, with the maximum journey undertaken by users only a quarter of the vehicle's average range of 72km. Average CO2 emissions were 81g/km based on the UK's current electricity generating mix.
