HyUnder, which was co-funded by the European Union’s Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, ran from 2012-2014 and aimed to assess the potential and relevant business cases for large-scale and long-term storage of renewable electricity by hydrogen underground storage in Europe.

Cenex developed the UK case study of the potential of large-scale hydrogen underground storage to integrate with the future UK energy system and the future demand potential for hydrogen in sectors such as transport.
